Z obalu připravovaného LP 11 1214-1: The very first hit single "Near To Us" by the rock group KERN, produced by the record company Supraphon in spring 1988 left a mark on its listeners and unexpectedly mixed the ratings of the Top Ten best selling single in Czechoslovakia. In the same uncompromising manner the group burst into the Czechoslovak television hitparade where the viewers' votes carried it up to the top award "The Golden Triangle".

Their next single released in autumn of the same year was immediately sold out, and when it received the "Rainbow Record" awarded to the most popular records of the past year, it was no wonder that KERN was accepted by the fans as a well-known and successful team.
